I felt as though I could feel their pain in my heart, the level of empathy was overwhelming. As I got older I was always trying to do what I could to help rescue animals in need. It wasn’t until I let go and let God, that I was able to take my passion to the next level. What you don’t know about me is I am a recovering drug addict who struggled for many years, being lost with no real direction or passion in life. A little over 12 years ago, I got down on my knees, surrendered and begged God for help. Along the way I found my passion, helping those who were lost just as I was, and those without a voice, the animals. I had a dream in my heart that one day 10-20 years down the line I could have a little halfway house with 6 or 7 girls. I could really help and give them accountability and support. Some would tell me that I was crazy, I had no experience in that field, no business experience at all, or knew anyone in that field who could help Furthermore, I had no college education, no money, no one with money who would help, credit so bad I didn’t know it could go that low. I had been arrested with possession charges for drugs as a result of my addiction. Based on all the things I knew about the world I would have been counted out, the odds were stacked heavily against me. But that's just it, God doesn’t pick those who are qualified, He doesn’t pick those with the education, skill set, know who or know how. He doesn’t care how much money you have, where you have been, He just cares where you are going. God picks those who are available for Him to use to help others. I became available and continue reaching out to anyone in need still to this day God does amazing things. God makes miracles and dreams come true and can fast forward the blessings as God did for me About 2 ½ years into my sobriety I was given the opportunity to open a halfway house for addicts and alcoholics. Immediately, I realized that a rescue dog could be housed with the clients helping each other to heal and recover. When someone comes into a sober living home, they are beaten, broken, and feel unworthy of love. What better love in the world is there than the unconditional love of a dog. Blue Waters Dog Rescue was founded in 2015 and as the halfway houses grew, so did the rescue. The end of 2015 someone came to me with an acquaintance of an acquaintance and asked about the sober living home I had. Then, they proceeded to tell me that they had these two empty buildings, and were offering to give them to me to use. God uses other people's circumstance to bless those who are available for him to use. Just like that we had 60 more beds to help people and this provided the home base for the dog rescue in Pompano Beach, FL. The unique set up of the property now known as Blue Waters Recovery, allowed for multiple dogs to be housed there. Over the years we have helped countless animals and people. Many say if it wasn’t for their foster rescue dog they wouldn’t have been able to stay sober. God is truly amazing and supersizes our dreams. Today we have 172 beds in 8 sober living homes, Sober Living by Tiffany / Blue Waters Recovery Foundation, and are one of the top in our industry. We have anywhere from 10 - 16 rescue dogs at any time as well as residents dogs.
