1Why: Our Belief
No One Is Too Broken to Be Saved, Dog or Human
Blue Waters Dog Rescue exists for the dogs no one else wants, and for the people fighting every day to reclaim their own lives.
Our founder, Tiffany Skuraton, knows what a second chance means. Years ago she saw what a rescue dog could do for people starting over, and Blue Waters Dog Rescue grew from that.
Many of our dogs come to us scarred, abandoned, or abused, often large and bully breeds labeled “too much” or “too broken.” We believe they are worthy of a second chance, and that when people and dogs care for each other, healing goes both ways.
Our mission: to rescue dogs and heal lives through the power of the human-animal bond, as we have since 2015.

Rescue, Care, and a Promise That Lasts
We don't stop at saving a dog's life. We give each one time, care, and people who believe in them.
We rescue the overlooked
We focus on large-breed dogs, especially misunderstood bully breeds, the dogs so often passed over or turned away.
Healing happens together
Each dog has a dedicated foster handler. People who need a fresh start care for a dog who needs one too, and both learn to trust again.
Wellness care, every day
Our Wellness Director, Stephanie, makes sure every dog is healthy, comfortable, and loved, with veterinary care from Coral Ridge Animal Hospital. Before adoption, every dog is tested for common diseases, behaviorally assessed, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered.
A home for life when adoption isn't right
Some dogs are too old, too sick, or too scarred by their past to be adopted. They become our sanctuary dogs and live with us for the rest of their lives.
Family long after adoption day
We stay in touch with our adoptive families, because everyone who meets Blue Waters becomes part of our family.

Support our partnership with Blue Waters Recovery Foundation, which fosters rescued dogs until they're adopted.
At Blue Waters Dog Rescue, we don't just save dogs. We help them save people too.
We proudly partner with Blue Waters Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit that provides safe, structured housing for people recovering from substance use. Our rescue dogs, many of whom have been abused, abandoned, or neglected, are fostered inside these recovery homes, living side by side with people who know what it means to be forgotten and to fight for a second chance.
These aren't just foster placements. They're healing bonds. A broken dog learns to trust again in the hands of someone who is learning to believe in themselves. A person who once struggled to care for themselves now wakes up with purpose, because there's a dog depending on them to show up, to love, and to try.
And something beautiful happens: they begin to heal, together.
